Planning Permission
All of our garden buildings are flat roofed and smaller than building regulation sizes. It needs to be 2m within your boundary, and 5m from your house for fire regulations. Usually built under 2.5m high - check with council to confirm permitted development or any other rights or restrictions.
Construction
Our cabins are made from high quality wood (mostly sustainable Cedar), with at least 100mm of insulation in the walls and roof, and are double glazed to a high standard. The flat roof gives maximum height and strength.
Prices
We only build a limited number of bespoke cabins each year. All of our garden studios and buildings can be adapted to fit your exact requirements, and prices include installation and delivery!

Gym in hotel garden
Andrew Best of STuDS has sent through details of a gym building they have recently created in the grounds of Bath Lodge Castle Hotel. Andrew and his team are specialist timber frame designers and were asked to create a contemporary design to contrast with the historic castle. The mono pitched building was orientated so the glazing faces south to harness the natural light and warmth from the sun – this is a good tip for anyone looking to build a garden room whether it be a gym like this or a garden office.

We have a British Timbermasters work studio in our garden and we are very happy with it. Contrary to most log cabins available on catalogue, Roger helped us design a space that fitted exactly our requirements. Our contemporary studio has a vast glazed surface – including two double-glazed skylights – that makes this space airy and a joy to work in. Not to mention the fact it really looks great. As it is fairly recent, we have not been through a winter yet, but in-built insulation should be more than sufficient to keep us warm. We find this is a superior alternative to your box-standard catalogue offering: the price of log cabins may look cheap, but when you factor in all the indispensable extras (ground posts, insulation, electric network, finishes, etc), you probably end up paying more than what you’d spend for a bespoke cabin created by Roger and his team. So at this price point, we found that British Timbermasters offers excellent value for the money.

10/10 - if there was a scale provided then this is what my recommendation would be for Roger Taylor having provided are garden office. Roger said it would be complete by a specific time and it was to an exacting quality. The build was fast, considerate and the result exceeded expectation. The build included consultation, delivery, dry lining and insulation, all electrical fittings inside and out and waterproofing. All we needed to do was paint it to our own requirements and pay £120 to have it connected to the house mains. If, like us, you are looking to move from renting an office and paying £600+ a month to rent then choose this company. We paid it off it 12 months and we are now rent free with a beautiful addition to our garden where 4 of us work very comfortably. We are a year on and still as happy - it will be good when the business stops as we already have plans to it in to something else. We will be using Roger again to build a posh shed and would continue to highly recommend him. Outstanding!

We have had our log cabin for a number of years now and have been delighted with it. Roger took the time to design exactly the sort of cabin we needed and it was built just to this specification; our cabin has a small indoor pool inside it and having been using it at least 4 times per week over the past few years I can say the cabin has been an excellent addition to our home and garden.
